Where have all the good people gone? If you are reading this after the caching away of the believers, this may well be your question. Paul writing to the church at Thessalonica said:
"Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words." - (1 Thessalonian's 4:13-18 -- NIV)
If this is you, you are lost, without God even if you went to church all your life. You didn't make Jesus your Lord and Savior. You may well have been a "good" person. You may have not broken any laws and to have shown love to other people, but without The Lord in your life YOU ARE LOST! Paul in his letter to the Romans wrote the following: "This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus". -- Romans 3:22-24 (NIV) Paul also wrote in the 6th chapter of his letter these words: "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." - (Romans 6:23 -- NIV). "Death" means without God now and later after one's own death and "eternal life" means life with God now and forever.
For how to get saved: please read my writing titled "Going to Heaven?" elsewhere in this collection of writings. It is not too late to make the Lord Jesus your Lord and Savior - just believe in your heart and confess with your mouth Him as Lord. It is written: "For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." - (Romans 10:10 -- NIV)
