Recently I had a dream about fly fishing. I even have watched videos on how to cast, and even got fairly good at keeping a "tight loop." I have tied flies, have fly pole, reel, waders, but have not caught any fish fly-fishing. I plan to go fly-fishing again, but just don't 'get around to doing it.
Now I have caught many fish with a spinning rod and a trolling reel. I trolled for fish at Ridgway Reservoir and caught and released many limits, keeping only the best three or four fish.
My dream didn't stop there. I dreamed of preaching about fishing for people for Jesus. Many attend soul-winning study classes. But never go out to win anyone-or they go out and fail to get a victory and became discouraged. Why? They stopped trying or they put it off for later. In Proverbs 22 I read something about carrying through on a project.
The lazy (fearful) man says, "There is a lion outside! I shall be slain in the streets!" -- Proverbs 22:13 (NKJV)
Fear of failing causes one to make excuses and not finish the assigned task. In the Gospel of Matthew we can read an interesting parable. (a talent in silver, is a huge sum of money, $16 - $20,000 US) Please read Matthew 15:14-30.
"Then he who had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.' … "Therefore take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents." - (Matthew 25:24, 25, 28 NKJV).
Have a dream, and then carry through with action. Be blessed in turn!
