So many times we are in conversation and hear someone say something and still not understand what they are saying. There was not anything wrong with what was being said, the words were right on. Yet we had no understanding, we were not really listening to what they actually were telling us. This may have been due to our attention was being somewhere else, or we were thinking what we wanted to say, (or even thinking what the other is saying is not that important.)
Note: "And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words." - (Matthew 6:7 NIV)
The above verse comes from Jesus teaching (the Sermon on the Mount.) Jesus is saying that many words may not be heard (understood) and would be only sounds, while a simple prayer (verses 8-13) will be heard by God, who answers your needs.
When you speak to God, don't rattle on, but pray with your heart simply speak of your thanks to Him, your wishes and needs. He will hear your heart and always answers. When He speaks to you, listen with your spirit and then respond to Him lovingly.
