The Apostle Paul wrote the Church people in Corinth that the wisdom of the world will never satisfy our souls.
"Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher (disputer, debater) of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? … God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength." - (1 Corinthians 1:20-25 (NIV)
In the above scripture, we see that real wisdom comes from God. When we turn our backs on the teachings of the Bible, we must make sure that we are not becoming foolish. Many times what seems right to mankind is not true to God's creation. If we can discern what God is saying in our inner self, apart from what the people of this world are saying in our ears, we then will make better decisions and then follow our inner spirits? "Seek first the Kingdom of God" (Matthew 6:33). And in 2 Chronicles 18:4, we read: "Jehoshaphat … said... "First seek the counsel of the LORD." So do the same!
