Is this the end of the earth as we know it? Or is this just an awful time? Back in 2008 Pastor Mark Biltz discovered that there was to be an unusual happening in the sky in 2014 and 2015. He got the information from the NASA website. There was to be four consecutive total lunar eclipses. This doesn't happen often. Such an event is called a "tetrad". This series is dated April 15, 2014 (Passover), October 8, 2014 (Sukkoth), April 4, 2015 (Passover), and September 28, 2015 (Sukkoth). These moons are called "Blood Moons." "Sukkoth" is also called "Tabernacles." Note: two things are involved here in the Hebrew calendar, one is these two major feasts and the other is all four fall in sabbatical years.
Let's highlight years 1400-1500 there are were four tetrads, two of which fell on feast days in 1428-29 and 1493-94. On those dates the Jews were involved. On the first event the Jews raised funds to seek protection from the Pope and the second Spain expelled the Jews from Spain. Last century, the 1900's there were five tetrads, two of which occurred on feast days (1949-50 and 1667-68). These were special times for the Jewish people, in '48 Israel became a nation and the '67 Israel captured Jerusalem. Prophecies were fulfilled.
This century, 2000's, there will be eight tetrads, only one will fall on feast days. Two of these so-called blood moons are in 2014 and the other two in 2015. This is very interesting. Just what could it mean? Gen.:14 has a clue: "And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years." This concerns the sun and the moon. The Hebrew calendar uses the moon cycle to be the months and the day starts with sundown. The year has 12 or 13 months corrected ever few years.
This year is the 49 year of this 50 year cycle. It is called "shmita" year, a year of economic reset. Next year is the Jubilee, the 50th year (called "yovel" in Hebrew). Things will happen on the Jewish community. Looking back, we see the financial markets responded to the last two shmitas or Sabbath years.
Is this God trying to get our attention? If it is we had better give Him heed. This could be a sign of the beginning of the end of this age.
Regardless of what God has in store for Israel, we need to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Pray also for wisdom for our friends and families and for ourselves.
